Like the title says, im looking for some good--well written, something that really sets a scene and makes you feel the atmosphere, fun and not too cringy-- slow burn rom coms with a mostly realistic premise, that is to say, no outrageousely ridiculous situations/reasons that lead to the events of the book, and main characters that are just like, regular people, at the very least not famous or rich/billionaires
Strangers to friends to lovers is my preference, childhood/longtime friends to lovers is fine if the reasons for them not dating are realistic. "enemies"/"rivals" to lovers is also okay, as long as their "hatred" to developing feelings is, again, realistic. And a relationship built on connection and emotional intimacy instead of lust, would be great! That being said, sexual content is fine, open door, closed door, i dont care
No fantasy, omegaverse, etc. Sports is meh
Books i have read and LOOOVED: The Friendship Fling by Georgia Stone (waiting impatiently for her next book), If It Makes You Happy by Julie Olivia, and First-Time Caller by B.K. Borison (i have read And Now, Back To You, loved it in theory, but i had some gripes with the writing)
Also really liked the Barrys Bay books from Carley Fortune, and Funny Story by Emily Henry (i have read/dnf'ed all her newer books except Happy Place)
I just want something with good banter, nice cozy vibes, characters with a good connection and development. Preferably no third-act breakup, at least not one that ends in a huge fight with seemingly no way back, i instantly lose all interest in finishing the book, ps. i know some of my listed books dont fall in that category, but shhhh
As mentioned, a good audiobook version would be nice, as that is my current way of coping with studies!
Thank you in advance! :D
