Hi all! We are currently in between 2 venues in Italy: La Pescaia and Borgo Laticastelli. We love both, but there is a price difference. With our base costs estimated, we can comfortably afford Laticastelli but Pescaia is reaching the very top end of our budget. I wanted to get some ideas from people who’ve been married at either venue or in Italy in general, what we have not accounted for price wise and might come up later. We’ve heard some horror stories of last minute charges and additions and I wanted to make sure we’re taking that into account.

So far our cost break down covers:

- Venue hire/Accommodations

- Bus transfer from airport (there and back)

- Wedding planner

- Florals & decor estimate for all 3 days

- Photographer / videographer

- Vendor meals

- Additional lighting (Pescaia charges extra for these)

Day 1

- Welcome Dinner/Mendhi: food, alcohol for 2 hrs, and mendhi artist

- AV equipment for music (La Pescaia charges this separately, and I’m playing a playlist from my phone

Day 2

- Pool Party during the day: use of pool, AV equipment and music from my playlist again

- Haldi & Sangeet: AV set up, tables and chairs, DJ, food and alcohol

Day 3

- Wedding ceremony: wedding ceremony set up, AV, cocktail hour, coursed dinner, alcohol, DJ & dance floor

Is there anything else I’m missing? I’ve heard people charge for crazy things like microphones for speeches, additional charges for ceremony breakdown and set up, corkage fees, etc. Brides & grooms who’ve had their weddings already- let me know what all little charges showed up later!
