Posting this so others don't get caught in the same trap.
I purchased a Cult Pro membership expecting to use it at the center closest to me in Noida Sector 150. Turns out, the Pro membership isn't valid there. Fine mistakes happen. What's not fine is that this was never clearly disclosed at the time of purchase. No warning, no center-availability check, nothing.
I reached out to support and proposed two completely reasonable options:
- Convert to a Elite plan adjusting the amount already paid, or
- A full/partial refund for the unusable portion
Their response? A copy-paste "we regret we cannot accommodate your request" no explanation, no counter-offer, no acknowledgment that they sold me something I literally cannot use, only to pay extra to get elite membership.
I followed up with a formal grievance email addressed to their named Grievance Officer. Silence.
What I've done so far:
- Exhausted all support channels
- Sent a formal legal notice
- Filed on National Consumer Helpline (consumerhelpline.gov.in)
Next step: District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission.
If you're buying a Cult membership, check center eligibility before paying. The app makes it very easy to purchase without showing you which centers your plan actually covers and they will not help you after the fact.
Has anyone else dealt with this? Did consumer court actually work for you?
