Wanting to add a new kit. What's fun?

Got a budget of about £40, I want to add a new kit to my army. But I want it to be a choice from the chaos codex rather than the emperor's children codex. I'm lucky enough to have a player group that are happy to let me use stuff that just makes sense in the codex. I've recently added a master of executions and so I'm renegade guardsmen because they're fun.

What else do we like from the chaos codex that should be in the emperor's children codex? Mutilators seem fun, budget won't stretch to a defiler.

Would appreciate any ideas!!

So TL/DR: mate gave me a Japanese army. Going to add some 3d printed bits to let me do Konflikt and Bolt Action. Need help with some silly bits.

Hello you lovely people.

Got some bolt action models and I'm actually really surprised how nice they are. I think I'm still traumatised from playing secrets of the 3rd Reich and not being overly impressed with the model quality.

My plan is to get my Japanese bolt action built (starter army, half the marines/Japanese boxed set, special naval box and a couple of other bits) and then 3d print some dieselpunk stuff and some mechs etc to go into the army, as budget is a key consideration for me. Rules wise I'm up to date with all books etc.

Some questions I have:

1: I absolutely hate the Japanese zombie models. Do we think wargames atlantic pulp zombies would be a suitable alternative?

2: what's the community like generally? I'm quite uncompetitive and prefer story to competitive gaming. Will these games support that style of play?

3: how are you storing your models? I mainly play space marines so I'm used to very chunky models, these seem quite fragile by comparison.
