I’ve had this vintage lens for about 7 years and I really want to use it.
Back in 2019 when my university was remodeling their broadcasting building, I kept dumpster diving hoping to find a camera. I was so desperate for my own camera that I didn’t care what it was.
Eventually I did get a broken HD-MiniDV camcorder and a SD MiniDV camcorder, but I also found this lens with an arm on the side. I didn’t know what it was at the time, but I eventually learned it went to a Bolex camera they later had put in a display case.
The lens is in pretty rough shape, but I believe it’s still useable; I really would like to make use of it with my Blackmagic Pocket 4K, but the problem is I can’t find anyway to make it fit on the camera.
When you take off the arm it doesn’t have a c-mount at the end, it’s just the exposed piece that goes inside the mounting cup. Does anyone know where I could get a proper c-mount cup on the back of it so I can properly use it in the future? It’s also missing the handle on the zoom piece, so does anyone know a good replacement part for it?
I especially would love to use it because while reading Robert Rodriguez’s book ‘Rebel Without a Crew’ I learned that’s one of the lenses he used to shoot ‘El Mariachi’
