Due to circumstances (100% within my control) I showed up late for check-in… four minutes prior to boarding. The Delta agent let me know that I was past the deadline, but checked the bag in regardless, but warned that it may not make it on the flight.

I am happy to report that, despite my late arrival, they still got my bag onboard. I know that this isn’t entirely Delta, but the airport, as well, but wanted to praise all involved. I was willing to accept the consequences and had a backup plan, but this is why I’m diamond with Delta and maintain my loyalty in a non-hub city.

Leaving ATW today, six TSA agents came to the gate. When boarding began, they started checking I.D.s and having everyone open their bags for inspection prior to boarding. 150+ flights per year for the last 15 years and I’ve never seen that happen before. I’m not a worrier, but it was mildly unsettling. Anyone know what might have caused this or experienced this before?
