I found this aloe plant as a baby dying in a grocery store several years ago and they sold it to me for $1. I brought it home and repotted it and put under my east facing covered porch and he was very happy. This past winter we moved him into the garage that has an east facing window but we had an unseasonably long hard freeze and he took some damage. I tried to trim the damage back to the healthy tissue but the leaves just kept dying. Now there are at least five new pups growing out from underneath and I was wondering what I should do with the main plant because he is continuing to die. I think the pups are probably pulling energy from the main plant still so I was hesitant to cut it back. Should I go ahead and cut it back and if so how drastic should I go? If not then how long should I wait to trim it?
