I went shopping at the local supermarket in a small village in Poland. As I walked to the car park, my wallet slipped out of my pocket, so I drove home knowing nothing.

I realised I didn’t have it and rang the store. They checked CCTV a couple of days later and saw I dropped it and someone came right behind me and took it as I got to my car. So even if I realised it would’ve been too late.

The store manager who checked the CCTV knows this guy but refuses to give any information on him even though he spent all my cash instantly in the store.
She rang the police and they now have the footage.

I gave a statement and they said it’s not theft because I dropped it and it goes under something else. But they said spending the money and taking the wallet isn’t a crime.

I’m English, living in Poland. My wallet had bank cards, ID’s, licenses and cash. I’ve cancelled the cards but other documents are difficult to get, some I can only get in the UK!

The area I live in is quite small and people know people.

Is there anything I can do?
Any advice?
