Question about my rats euthanasia.

The day before yesterday, I noticed some red crust around one of my rats eyes. She was otherwise normal, so I cleaned it off and decided to just monitor her. The next day I got home from being out for a few hours and her left eye had gotten really swollen around it. She couldn't walk properly and kept rolling around/falling over. I immediately took her to the emergency vet, which was 1.5 hours away and it was the middle of the night. The vet told me there was no way to distinguish between a mass behind her eye or an abscess. She said we could try antibiotics and see if there is an improvement, but that she was strongly leaning toward a mass, and in that case euthanasia would be the best option. She said if it was a mass, the antibiotics would not help at all and her suffering would be prolonged. I strongly felt like they were pushing me toward the euthanasia for the comfort of my rat. When they left the room, they left their computer up with all of the pets being seen and information on them. Next to mine, it was talking about the euthanasia and said "AMA" by it. From my understanding AMA means "against medical advice" but to me they seemed to be pushing it. I saw this after it had already been done and they took her body away. It made me question what I just did. I was already upset because the I kept thinking what if we just tried the antibiotics and she did get better? My question is why would it say AMA when they were encouraging it? Did I make the wrong decision? Am I overthibking that detail completely? I'm so confused. Thanks for any answers.
