Hey everyone,

I’m in a bit of a stressful situation right now and would love some advice from anyone who has been through this.

I'm currently finishing up high school and starting my freshman year at a local university this September. My ultimate dream is to transfer to a US university for my sophomore year to study Business/Marketing.

To build a strong application and show leadership, I’ve been working on a major project for my school—a digital canteen and delivery ecosystem. But right now, everything is piling up. I'm in the middle of exams, I have so many subjects to study for, and my project is currently stuck because of technical issues.

I feel really confused and overwhelmed trying to balance getting top grades, fixing my project, and prepping for the US transfer process.

A few questions:

To those who successfully transferred to the US as international students: How did you manage your time during the application year?

Is it okay if I pause my project until exams are over, or will that hurt my timeline?

Does a long-term, student-led project like this carry a lot of weight in US transfer admissions?

Hi everyone,

I've designed a project to solve two big problems at my school, and I'd love your feedback on the idea and how to overcome my current execution struggles.

The Problem: Long canteen lines during breaks.

The Solution: A mobile platform where students pre-order food, and student volunteers deliver it to specific classroom zones/boxes during breaks.

The Bigger Picture (The Marketing & Community aspect):

Beyond food delivery, I want to integrate:

Marketing tools like coupons and special activity promotions to encourage students to buy more from the canteen.

A space to highlight student-led projects, health initiatives, and school charity drives.

To make it sustainable, I plan to recruit younger students (10th/11th graders) to handle technical and delivery roles so it continues to run after I graduate.

My Struggles:

Right now, it's exam season, my schoolwork is piling up, and the app development is stuck. I feel like I have a solid idea that shows leadership and marketing skills, but I'm struggling with the execution phase.

Does this sound like a viable, good idea for a high school ecosystem?

How can I get around the development hurdles when I don't have enough time to code everything from scratch?

Any feedback would be highly appreciated!

Hi everyone,

I am a student project lead trying to build an app for my school's canteen to eliminate waiting lines, handle pre-orders, and manage delivery across the campus.

Right now, I'm stuck on the actual app development/coding part. I have about a month to get this up and running before it needs to be ready, but the technical complexity is holding me back.

My main goal right now is not to make a profit. I just want this project to exist, function successfully, and prove the concept. Down the line, as the app grows and handles more features (like student marketing, activities, and localized deliveries), I might introduce monetization/profit strategies, but right now I just need it to work.

My questions for the tech experts here:

What low-code/no-code platforms or database setups would be perfect for this specific deadline (1 month)?

How can I simplify the complexity of this project for the initial launch?

Any tips on finding a volunteer developer who might want to help a student build this for a good cause?

Thank you so much for your advice!
