I spent the next couple of minutes in a mental moral dilemma when Reichi walked into the living room in jersey shorts and a black t-shirt, “hey beloved.”

I breath heavily, my vision blurring from exhaustion, bones aching from moving too much, my ears ringing as I stand between an army of Nanomorph cyborgs and Lady Divine Working on EMP Sono-dispersion device

“W-What ever you’re d-doing, please hurry!” I conjure a arsenal of guns, letting energy bullets rain down from the sky

It takes out a couple of them but one leaped forward and tackled me into a pillar of the warehouse, “Become One of us. Join us.”

She held my by the throat as nanites from the nanomorph virus infected my body. I smiled, “Nice try, but the only thing you’re doing is feeding me.”

I convert the nanites into bio-Energy and release a Shockwave of bio-electricity. Then I rush over and punch a Nanomorph about to touch Lady divine.

“Thanks,” she mumbled, typing furiously on the keyboard, “Never thought there would be a time where I wish there were more heroes.”

“Hush. Stay focused on the task at hand. I believe in you,” I pat her head, “Come on, use that big brain you use when you’re trying to use to kill Hellshade.”

I charge my feet with bio-energy and leap into the horde of Nanomorphs, releasing a shockwave of Bio-energy when I land.

“I do not understand. Why resist? You could be so much better than you are. Are you really willing to die to protect a Villain?”

I spin around. It was Nanomorph himself, a large hulking metallic humanoid mass with silver liquid tendrils covering his body.

I enter a fighting stance, I just need to buy more time

“I am willing to die if it means someone that can be rehabilitated is willing to do the right thing that will save millions!” My silver eyes pulse with a bright blinding glow as I create chains of bio-energy and whip them into the crowd of Nanomorphs, grabbing a few and spinning around while knocking them into others.

Suddenly a large explosion sounded outside and I Heard “Grab Fabereun and make sure Lady Divine can finish the code! DO NOT LET THE INFECTED TOUCH HER”

I smile, turning to Nanomorph, “Any last words before my friends bust in here to beat your ass?.”

Suddenly the door, was blasted of its hinges and HellShade rushed in, worried. She saw me and raised her hands, causing black flames to racing from the sky and take out the Nanomorphs around me. Then she summoned shadow tendrils to restrain Nanomorph himself

“Are you ok?!”

A strange beep was heard as a strange whirring started picking up noise, a pulse of strange force passing over the area

“Of Course I am,” I ruffle her hair, “I’m just very…….tired. Quick question, is there normally three of you?”

I pull the flowers out and deactivate my wrecked suit, the nanotechnology shrinking off my body into my necklace as I head to my bathroom. I check myself in the mirror.

My hair was a mess, which means I need a haircut and a full deep retwist, Some new scars on my caramel colored skin, and I stink

When my powers activated, my eyes turned permanently silver. I couldn’t change it so I got used to wearing colored contacts.

I couldn’t find anyone to do my retwist so After scheduling my haircut, I jumped in the shower, do a thorough deep scrub of everything, get out, then I head out to get my haircut

“Yea? Why would I be? All I can do is make stuff from my energy, which runs out. Sure I can convert any matter than enters my body into energy but I get tired of eating rocks and stuff”

I sat down at the table to eat. It was mac’N cheese, Cornish hens, corn Bread, and Mash potatoes.

“Mmmm,” as I try it out the food. It was fucking delicious!

“You know” I say, eating more food, “you would make an amazing wife”

Sayeh froze, “Oh! Really?!”

“Hell-mmmmmm……yea!” I said, biting the corn bread, “This is delicious!”

“O-Oh,” then she mumbled something.

“What did you say?”

“Nothing,” then she got up and went to the living, coming back with a box of tea bags, “One of your Neighbors, Zuhra, left this here for you”

I froze, “Fuck! We were supped to have tea on Monday! Damn it! I was unconscious!”

“I see. So who is she?”

“Oh, she moved in a couple months ago. She’s nice and pretty wise. Me and her talk sometimes. I don’t know much else about her.”

I continue to eat until I’m done, “That……was gooooood. I’m being so deadass. How come you’re still single, that shit was delicious.”

“I already have a cr-crush,” she looked down, avoiding my eyes

“Ooooooo,” I say mischievously, “Is it Mesmyra? Flareburst? ColdFront? Dr. Tempest? You’ve hung out with him a lot. Come on, who am I gonna be teasing about this?”

“Ok first off. I’m not into Girls. I tested that. Second it’s a secret,” she said, smiling at my antics

“Alright can I get a h-“

“His eyes are like the moon,”

“Hmmmmmm” I think, Going through everyone I know and trying to see what that could mean.

Over the next couple weeks, Sayeh took care of me. She cooked, cleaned, and made sure I rested. She tried to do my Laundry but I vehemently fought her on that.

I got to know her more as well. She’s from an African household and was kicked out when her powers manifest cause of her parents believing she was a demon when she was 12. Her powers come from a latent gene that was activated during a Gen-0 event. She’s getting her masters in criminal science and does pet sitting in her spare time

I also made up for missing the tea party with Zuhra. She was not happy about that but I made her a gift bracelet so she got over it. Her and Sayeh interacted a couple more times and got on somewhat friendly terms but it always felt like there was this weird tension I could t figure out

When I was cleared by Flesh mender, I immediately got back to hero work. I had some pent up bio-energy to let out I decided to use it on some criminals. However I must had been rusty.

“Well well well,” said Televice, holding me in the air with his telekinesis, “Not so tough now are, you little shit?”

“Aww-Awww Ack! T-Too afraid to h-hold me yourself?” I could feel my ribs breaking again. My arm was already in sore shape

He glared at me as his Partner, Quicknoost, sudden appeared next to him, “Aye don’t let him provoke you!!”

I smiled, releasing a burst of silver Bio-energy from my chest, but he blocked it with a telekinetic field.

Damn it!

“What’s tha-!”

All of a sudden, there was a Flash of light and I saw a yellow glowing blade hit Televice in the head, which caused him to release his hold on me. However Quick Boost was quick enough and suddenly I was in a dark cavern-like room

“Welcome” Quick boost threw her hands up, “to Silent Echelon.”

My eyes widened. I heard of those people. A shady group of unknown individuals with great power that control the underworld from the shadows.

All of a sudden there was an explosion that shook the building and a flash of light that hit Quick boost.

Unfortunately, my pain caught up to me and I passed out, but not before seeing a female figure resembling Lady Divine Rushing towards me

I woke up, first noticing I was in a lavish bed. Second, my suit was off and my wounds were bandaged, third, MY MASK ISNT ON.

“Fuck, fuck, fuck!”

“Oh so you’re awake.”

I whirl around, entering a fighting stance after seeing Lady Divine with a hand on her hip.

She raised an eyebrow, “You aren’t HellShade. We both know you have no chance of beating me.”

“What do you want with me? HellShade is normally your go to hero to mess with.”

She rolled her eyes, “look, here” she tossed me my suit necklace

I caught it, noticing it was completely Fine?

“What game are you playing?!”

She didn’t answer as she walked forward, touched my shoulder, and suddenly I was in my house.

I looked around, scratching my head. Wait……..that’s means……..she’s knows where I live!!!??

I put more comfortable cloths on start pacing around my living room, trying to figure out what my next move was when a Few minutes later, there was a knock on my door. I opened it and saw Zuhra.

She was holding a batch of cupcakes, then Frowned at my condition, “What happened? You look like you were in a fight?”

“Oh……um…….I fell?”

“Okaaaaaayyy…….anyways look. I brought you some Cupcakes.”

“Oooo food!”

We sat down at my kitchen table as I dug onto the cupcakes. Zuhra stared at me as I ate, “What?”

“Nothing. It’s just your adorable when you eat, Lulu” she giggled.

“T-thanks zuzu,” suddenly self conscious about the icing on my face.

“So did you get the tea bags I sent you?” She asked.

I nodded, “Sayeh Helped make a couple batches. They were very good and I think they helped in my recovery.”

“Really?” She’s was smiling but it felt strained.

“Is something wrong?”

“Nothing. So Sayeh is really cool …….whats her story?”

“She’s a…….co-worker……..at my job.”

“Mhm. Shes also very pretty.”

“She’s also single,” I say, wiggling my eyebrows at her, “Want me to put in a good word for you, Zuzu?”

Zuhra laughed, “thanks but I get the feeling she’s not playing for my team based on our interactions.”

She stood up and said, “Well, I better get going. Please get better. I don’t like seeing you hurt. Make sure to take care of your arm and ribs. Those are not replaceable.”

I felt a warning go off in my instincts but I paid it no mind as I saw her out the door

The next day, Sayeh came over, “Hey did you hear about one of the Cobra Cartel hide outs? Apparently it was connected to the Silent Echelon.”

“Really?”

“You don’t seem so surprised?”

“Eh. They were packing Televice’s pockets. He’s not easy to work with,” I say. Sayeh looked uneasy.

“What’s wrong?”

“Well sources say the places was attacked with light explosions and light constructs but they don’t know who it is.”

“Lady divine?”

“I don’t know. It’s just……Lady Divine has been acting weird. Lately. She’s seems distracted and she rarely schemes anymore. I will admit I could have it a lot worse, considering she doesn’t kill civilians or innocents, but her lack of effort currently is throwing me off”

“I can see that. She can be w-Ugh!”I shrug but it shoots a pain through my shoulder and I wince.

“What happened?!”

“I was facing off against Televice and Quickboost earlier. Strangely enough Televice had me in his clutches but got hit by a Glowing yellow light sword from Lady Divine I’m guess. But Quick boost kidnapped me. However, the place he took me too was the target of the attack you said earlier. However the strangest thing happened.”

“What?”

“I woke up in this rich as bed with my suit taken off, which thank god I had clothes on under, with my wounds tended to. Lady divine was there and she handed me my suit back then teleported me to my apartment. Which means”

“She saved you? And tended to your wounds? but that also means She knows where you live and who you are now! Ok no. This is freaking me out. ever Since the battle with Nanomorph, she’s been……..acting………weird.”

She stared at me for a second before looking down

“You know, you never told me what happened after I passed out”

“Lady Divine kept your stable until flesh Mender got on the scene. She was very worried about you and worked very hard to keep you stable u til flesh mender got there. She disappeared and I was fine with it cause she saved you……..but I’m starting to……..question some things.”

“Right. But my question is, why hasn’t she attacked me yet?” I said, eating the another cupcake.

“Oooooo,” said Sayeh, “can I have one?”

“Sure thing,” I hand her a red velvet one, “Zuhra made them for me.”

“Really?” Sayeh closed her eyes from the taste, “mmmm…..these are delicious.”

“Zuhra’s baking is top tier”

“I can tell. I wish we could have a girls night with my other friends. She’s seems pretty cool.”

“Well I’m here to support your rel-I mean friend ship endeavors,” I said and she slugged me in the arm, immediately apologizing after I winced.

“Zuhra was right. I need to take care of my arm and ribs.”

“She said that?”

“Yea.”

“I hope you weren’t shirtless in front of her”

“Nah. She’s always kind of been able to pick up when I’m hurt.”

“Really? That’s surprising. You’re really good at hiding your pain if you want.” She’s knew he was injured before he told her?

Sayeh seemed off after that but I assumed it was cause of thinking about Lady divine’s weird behavior. She left soon afterwards but she kissed my cheek before leaving

The next Morning, my injuries were healed so I got back to hero work. I was finally happy to be back in the field. But yesterday reminded me I needed to be careful. I tried messaging Sayeh but she said she had some business to handle

HellShade tackled her through a wall, “Why did you save Fabereun?”

Lady Divine Grunted, “Ok this is p-pissing me off”

She blasted HellShade across the place with a light blast from her chest, “Why the fuck are you mad I saved your friend? Isn’t that what you want?”

“that’s not what I’m mad about and you know it. You know where he lives and who he is. My questions is why did you do it?”

“I owed him and I don’t like owing people,” said Lady Divine, charging her body with light energy.

“Yeah but you took EXTRA care to make sure he was ok, which is funny cause you hate heroes,” she made a whip of black fire, grabbing Lady Divine, brought her over Hellshade’s head as she spun around and slammed her to the ground.

Lady divine grunted, teleporting behind HellShade and kicking her knee in before smacking her across the place into a wall, “I’m an hon-honorable p-person who ta-takes owing p-people seriously, alright?”

“Nah,” HellShade go up, dusting herself off then pointing at Her, “I find it very funny you helped him not once, but went out of your way to track him to fuck knows where to help him again with the Silent Echelon. You and I both know how dangerous those people are”

“So? Why are you complaining?”

“C-Cause I c-care about him and y-you put him endanger! You’ve been acting all sorts of weird after the battle with Nanomorph, especially when it comes to Fabereun and I wanna know why.”

Lady divine Snorted, “how you ever considered the fact that he touched my heart and I wanted help him out for it? You work with him, he’s very I-inspiring. Maybe he’s finally convinced me to change my ways, something you heroes are all about.”

“Did you play it safe?”

“Obviously I covered my tracks and kept My identity secret. Any other dumbass questions?”

“Sure,” HellShade took off her mask and demorphed from her demon form, “What are you doing Zuhra?”

Lady Divine sighed, “So we’re doing this,” she took off her mask, “I knew you were HellShade but I didn’t think you would figure me out.”

“Lucio is amazing at hiding his pain yet you knew he was specifically injured without him indicating it at all. Not to mention you’re wearing a bracelet he was working on a couple weeks back.”

“What do you want?” Said Zuhra, annoyed.

“I want you to stay away from him.”

Zuhra clenched her fist, “Oh. I see. So that’s what this is about.”

“Yes. I don’t trust you, despite your better morals than other villains”

“And if I disagrees?”

“I wasn’t asking,” Sayeh appeared in front of her face, “Stay. Away. From. Him.”

“Why? You own him or something? Jesus it’s like you’re in love with him”

“Shut Up! You d-don’t know what y-you’re talking about!”

“I mean I suspected as much but after I suspected you of being Lady Divine, I didn’t think it was possible,” said Sayeh, “When did it happen?”

“Girly………..” Sayeh gave her a look, “Don’t be ashamed. It’s literally just us here.”

“There she is,” said Sayeh, who sat down, “I’m waiting”

Zuhra threw her hands up in frustration, “alright! It started Nearly a year ago! I was working with a group of people who captured him. He’s reckless, you know, too much for his own good“

Sayeh rolled her eyes, “You don’t know the half of it.”

“The people I was working with betrayed me, which I kind of suspected was gonna happen so I made precautions. However, one of them got the drop on me, but when I woke up with him, Lucio was there and was he was pissed. He scolded me for choosing to work with such shady people, said I was ‘better than this, despite being a villain’, and that he was disappointed in my choices,”

“R-Really?” Sayeh struggled not to laugh which irked Zuhra, “Hush!”

“He scolded me more then I asked what happened. He had apparently broke out, fought off the people by himself, grabbed me, and made a run for it. It didn’t make sense to go this far for me so I asked him why, and his response is when I think it started. He said ‘cause you aren’t a monster.’ Normally I would have lashed out but in all honesty, he was right, which made me irritated”

“Awwwwwww that’s so sweet.”

“S-shut up.”

“He tried to arrest me afterward but I escaped obviously. After that, what he said really stuck with me and I couldn’t get him out of my head. I started feeling strange when I saw you and him fight together. I had the strangest urge to violently throttle any female superhero or villain I saw talking to him in a way I perceived as flirting.”

“Oh sweetie you don’t know the worst of it,” said Sayeh, “He thinks that cause he’s weaker than most superhumans, which we both know is horse shit, that the Alliance doesn’t think that much of him. In actuality a good chunk of my female co-workers talk about him a lot. Too much for my liking.”

“I was able to keep it from messing with me in my work but one day I just decided to learn more about him. I tagged him once, found out who he is, and just keep a subtle eye on him. I couldn’t understand my obsession with him. So I decided to become his neighbor. I tried to tell myself it was so I could use him if I needed too but……..”

“Butttttttt……?”

“I-I wasn’t a-acting with him. I thought I would bu-but I genuinely enjoyed sp-spending time with h-him so much and it threw m-me off.”

“Obviously, you failed ovary,” Sayeh said, annoyed, “Love doesn’t care about what you want. It’s there for you to feel and cherish. What were you planning to do long term?”

Zuhra, avoided her eyes while red in the face, “It’s t-temporary. H-He already has you. And I have a m-mission to complete.”

“Mhm”

“I’ll get over him in due time.”

“Sure you will.”

“Stop messing with m-me.”

“What if he loved you back?”

“He doesn’t”

“You don’t know that”

“Why do you care? Isn’t me wanting the man you love bad for you?”

“Cause…….we’re friends. At least I thought we were.”

“Y-You thought wr-wrong,” Zuhra said half-heartedly, “I’m a villain and you’re a hero.”

“You know I don’t get you. Why enter his life like this but do this” she gestures to everything, “in your spare time? It’s apparent you can do pretty well for yourself so why do all this?”

“I LOST EVERYTHING TO YOU SO-CALLED HEROES AND I WILL NOT STOP UNTIL THIS BROKEN SYSTEM IS DESTROYED,” said Zuhra, tears falling from her eyes as she’s started sparking with yellow energy, “My parents were held for ransom and we HAD the money to save them. But you know what happened? The heroes who were supposed to deliver it provoked the kidnappers and my parents lost their lives.”

Sayeh froze.

“My brother found a cure for certain superhumans who didn’t want their abilities. He went to the Valor alliance for protection and guess what? He disappeared. Never to be seen again. A couple weeks later, his body is found in a river. And what do the heroes do? NOTHING! And his cure? ‘Confiscated for legal reasons’”

Sayeh clenched her fist. She heard about that one, “We caught the mole who did that……..I am sorry for your loss.”

“But the worst of it all…….the man I loved…….Derek……..died cause of your Organization incompetence! WHAT KIND OF IDIOTS SEND EXPLOSIVE AND FIERY HEROES INTO A PLACE RIGGED WITH BOMBS?”

Sayeh had no response to that one cause that is one of the Valor Alliances many shames.

“YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS LIKE TO SEE THE PEOPLE YOU LOOK UP TO DESTROY EVERYTHING YOU LOVE AND LOOSE EVERYTHING!”

Zuhra put her mask back on and charged at Sayeh with enhanced speed, drop kicking her into a book shelf.

“I……..have no idea?” Sayeh started laughing, but it had no humor, “I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT ITS LIKE TO LOOSE EVERYTHING?”

Sayeh put her mask on then blasted herself at Zuhra, picking her up into the air and slamming her to the ground, “MY OWN MOTHER CALLED ME A DEMON! I LOST MY HOME AND MY FAMILY ALL CAUSE OF SOME STUPID PREJUDICE AGAINST MY FUCKING GENETICS.”

“SHUT UP”, Zuhra punched Sayeh off of her.

“NO! WE BOTH LOST EVERYTHING BUT I ACTUALLY TOOK THE OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE SOMETHING OF MYSELF SO I COULD HELP OTHERS. YOU CLAIM-”

She punches Zuhra in the face

“-YOU WANT TO-“

Sayeh Dodges a kick from Zuhra and judo flips her into a wall.

“-FIX THIS BROKEN SYSTEM BUT-“

She punched Sayeh out of her hide out with all her strength, sending her flying across the city.

It was absolute madness. A group of villains Called the Black Covenant planted random bombs through out the city that turn people in its explosions into kaiju mutants. we’ve been able to track the bombs thanks to Enforcer’s Technopathy but we are struggling to keep up with the mutating Kaiju.

Suddenly a loud explosion sounds in the distance and a high velocity object flies over head.

“Wait…..that looks like Sayeh!” I boost my speed and create a chain of bio-energy, throwing it into the air and catching her by the leg then pulling her to me while I slide to a stop in an alley, catching her, “Gotcha!”

She groaned, “w-wha-! Fabereun?! What’s going on?!”

“I could ask you the same thing.”

I noticed a flash of light and Lady Divine was there, his suit a little roughed up. She seems relived when she saw HellShade, “ok, good. You got her”

“What the fuck is going on?!”

They shared a look, then both said “Girl talk”

“With a villain?”

“Alright look” lady divine took her mask off, “It’s complicated.”

I looked at Zuhra Desparate face then set HellShade Down, cracking my knuckles, “I see. So you’ve been misl-“

“No! I w-wouldn’t do that. Not t-to you, Lulu.”

I narrow my eyes, “the fuck is that supposed to mean.”

“Fabereun, wait. This is between me and her. Don’t get involved!,” HellShade stood up but she was clearly weakened.

“Relax, I can tak-“

“No! It’s a……personal thing. Just trust me.”

Fabereun, my scanners show there’s one more bomb left but we don’t have much time. You need to run like hell if you want to disable it!

I sighed, “look, idk what type of lady stuff you guys got going on, but figure it out. And you”

I pointed to Zuhra, “was it all a lie? Was everything just to get close to me so you destroy me?! I trusted y-“

“No! I would never! I e-enjoyed our time t-together!”

“Sure. Whatever,”I narrow my eyes.

“Fabereun,” said Sayeh

“Wha-mmmmm!” Sayeh lifted my Mask off and kissed me. It lasted several seconds. Several second I heavily enjoyed

Zuhra pursed her lips with clenched fist but said nothing

“I will explain everything later. We can all come together and have a conversation. Just trust me, ok?”

“Y-yeah,” Then I run off. Following enforcers directions. I find the bomb but when I find it, it has 25 seconds. I sigh you know what? Fuck it. I’ve lived a good life up until now

I create an energy sphere around the bomb, making it as dense as possible to absorb the explosion. As it counts down. I reminisce about my life. so this is it, huh? And man I never even got to have a decent girlfriend.

My last thought before the bomb went off was wanting to visit the stature of liberty if I ever got the chance

“So now what?” Said Sayeh, entering a fighting stance.

Zuhra clenched her fist then held her hands up, “I give up.”

“What?!”

“I……..I don’t want to fight you. Fabereun w-wouldn’t want us f-fighting. Besides, we have bigger fish to fry,” said Zuhra, putting on her mask as growling mutated Kaiju growled behind her

“Don’t kill them!” Sayeh Entered her demon form and they got to work.

However a couple minutes later, a loud explosion made both of their head shoot up

Zuhra eyes widened as they looked at each other, “Isnt that wh-

“Where Fabereun was going?!”

They both immediately rushed over to the scene

When HellShade got there, a couple of heroes were already there

“Where is he?”

Enforcer turned to her as Shard shot looked on with sorrow, handing her a burnt patch of cloth, this is all we found of him. I’m sorry.”

“No.”

“He gave his life to contain the bomb”

“No no no no no no! He can’t be g-gone! He c-can’t be! I CAN’T LOOSE HIM” cried HellShade.

She cried into Lady Divines shoulders, who had tears of her own falling from her eyes. My last moments with him were of his hurt of my lies! WHYYY?!

No one questioned why a hero was seeking comfort in a villain. Only mourning their fallen friend……..

After Gensplice was able to come up with a cure for the mutated kaijus, the heroes got to work on collecting the dead and rebuilding the city, spending all night up until the morning with repairs using their powers and civilian help.

It was a time of mourning for everyone, even the citizens. Fabereun was well beloved by all.

However, Lady Divine and HellShade disappeared……….which was due to the fact they tracked down each and every single on the the Black covenant and brutally beat them into oblivion, only stopped by Matriarch, who carried their members to prison

In the marvel universe, mutants are humans with special mutations. However not all mutations are good.

Storm is a very pro-mutant person. To the point it annoys mutants with less fortunate abilities.

I was being lectured on the phone by my mother in Spanish when my girlfriend walked in. She seems distressed and had puffy eyes, like she had been crying.

“Sorry gotta go madre,” I hung up and gave her a hug.

“I’m not human,” she held up her left arm and it changed, getting bigger with claws growing at the end of each fingers and brown thick fur covering it. Her normally grey eyes changed to a bright deep green, “I’m a werewolf. Have been since I was born.”

“Ok. Cool. Is that all?”

“Alright. What do you want for dinner?”

“You’re a werewolf and yet you’re hard of hearing.

I asked what you wanted for dinner.”

“Mhm,” I began looking through the cabinets,” we have bread right? I’m craving grill cheese.”

I asked her a bunch of questions based on what I know and stuff from media and she told me a lot. Werewolf’s aren’t weak to wolfsbane, just minority allergic. You can be turned by a full bite or a deep life killing scratch. She can do full wolf, partial wolf, or wolf-human hybrid. Packs “own” territories and any omega, which are lone wolves, must pay tribute or face consequences. Silver can kill them. Vampires, leprechauns, ghosts, witches, therianthropes, etc are all real.

“Yeah,” she seemed nervous, “So?”

“So what?”

“Are you-you mad?”

“Not really. Wanna watch Star Wars?”

“Rico I’m being serious! T-this is a v-very hard thing to talk about.”

“Did you want me to have one? Isn’t that what you didn’t want? Do you realize how stupid that sounds?”

“I thought if you knew you were dating a werewolf, you would leave me. I’m sorry,” she seems sad.

“Huh? But that just makes you cooler.”

“Yeah. I’m kind of jealous. You get to do cool shit. I wanna do monster parkour through the city too.”

She stared at me for a moment then kissed me, “my perfect man.”

“Awwwwww,” I said, “what pushed you to tell me anyway “

“Oh. Well. My former family found me.”

“Oh shit. Wait I remember the fact you didn’t like talking about them.”

“Cause they adhere to a lot of old werewolf traditions. European werewolf’s tend to either be racists, stuck up pricks only concerned for their bloodline, or other bullshit. Those traditions ruined 11th grade for me”

“Really?”

“Yeah. I had this boyfriend, Eric. Very sweet boy. He even kept my secret. But he was human. My former family didn’t want me intermingling with humans and said he was either to be turned or we had to break up. Eric didn’t want to be turned cause he was vegan, which is fair. But I didn’t want to leave him. We saw each other in secret until one day, he didn’t come. I found out later that my brothers ganged up on him and beat him brutally.”

“Did he die?”

“No. He survived. But when saw him in The hospital, barely holding on to life, I knew I had to end it. When he woke up, he was happy to see me but there was lint of fear. I broke up with him then completely cut my former family off.”

“Out on your own at 17?”

“Not as hard as you think if you can feed on raw animals and sleep in the woods. I didn’t need a warm bed or food. Just shelter and clothing.”

“Did you finish high school?”

“I’ve shown you my high school diploma, what do you think?”

“I assume you’re parents weren’t to happy about being cut off?”

“They tried to find me but I threaten to expose the werewolves on live TV so they left me alone. There’s an unspoken rule amongst the supernatural: anyone who threatens the secrecy and all involved will be dealt with.”

“That’s kind of hardcore. Scary, but hardcore. Did they ever try anything else?”

“When I was 19, they sought me out, acting like they wanted to make amends. I believed them cause I missed my family and being and omega is not for the weak, it was all a plot cause They were going to marry me off to this well known alpha as a power move”

“That’s……..evil.”

“I ran away due to the fact I didn’t want my life to me made for me. I tried to avoid falling in love…….but then I met you.”

I chuckled, “awwwww so I’m your last boyfriend?”

Lazina rolled her eyes.

“So what now?”

“Well I was able to get this far cause I made a deal with the local monster hunting fam-“

“Wait a minute, what? Monster hunters?”

“Yeah. Humans are a very stubborn, annoying, and scary race. If monsters act up, someone has gotta put them down. Most monsters just want to live in peace but some unfortunate bad apples pop up ever now and then and monsters aren’t always gonna be looking to kill each other.”

“That’s…….so scary.”

“It’s alright. I agreed to help their daughter and son, who are police detectives with any case that could be supernatural and in return, they leave me in peace as long as I don’t hurt anyone. But it seems I’m gonna need their help.”

“Why?”

“Cause I’m gonna need them to kill my former family”

“Woah,” I gently pushed her off me and grabbed her shoulder, “Baby, think about what you are do-“

“I did. What’s the issue?”

“They are your fam-“

“No. Former family. You’re my family. Jaeson and Tae-Hi are my family. Those people mean nothing to me,” she said it so casually with a small smile on her face.

“Are you sure about this?”

“I’m going to bear your children after we get married. They come first and I will do anything to protect them”

“Oh. Marriage? I didn’t think you wanted to get married.”

“I can see how that would look but no. I was trying to figure out how to tell you about my secret. You’ve been so patient and loving with me but My former family forced my hand.”

“Did you ever account for us breaking up?”

“No. My senses allow me to better understand how to be a better partner to you. Which increases the chances of you staying with me.”

“What about you just feeling not up to it anymore? It’s rare but it happens.”

“Well you’re my mate so I can’t leave you unless you are dead, which means no break up and if we get married, I’m psychologically incapable of divorcing you, which by the way means if you cheat on me, I will kill you,” she sound so serious.

“Your heart speed up a bit. Are y-“

“Now who’s acting weird? You’re just passively threatened my life. Of course imma be a little unsettled by it”

“No, Rico, I gave you a warning. A warning I hope you take into deep consideration. I’m a werewolf. I’m neurologically built different. Werewolves don’t do divorce or breaks ups and abusive relationships end up in death for us,” she seemed analytical

“Oh. Well that’s……..not scary at all

She kisses my fore head, “You wouldn’t do that,not just cause you couldn’t but cause it’s not you, so I’m not worried about it. However, If you try to leave me, you have a good amount of time before the pressure builds up in my mInd and I will come looking for you to convince you to be mine again or I will have to kill you. Do you understand?,” she grabbed my face gently.

She could snap my neck if she wanted

“Y-Yes maam.”

“Good.” She got up, “now if you will excuse me, I’m have to go put a hit out on my family.”

She kissed me, “I love you. And now that we have had to conversation, please remember that although I will never leave you realistically, please keep in mind I still requires love, respect, and attention. Don’t get complacent or disrespectful, ok?”

I smile like a goof ball and give her a salute, “Ma’am yes ma’am!”

She bites her lip, “you know…….breeding season is in a couple days. Be careful handsome.”

She walked off as I struggled to process what she meant cause it sounded like a compliment and a threat but I couldn’t tell which one, “babes wtf does that mean?!”
