I tested Ragna Rage. Here's what I think:
RagnaRage FE4-55Y is one of the latest releases of Beyblade X for the CX expand line, and to be honest, the bit looked promising - until it wasn’t. The Yielding bit wobbles a lot, and with 20 gears it loses more stamina than it could keep up. So I decided to test the blade with a different bit against Shark Scale 1-70LR, Wizard Rod. 1-60H, Phoenix Wing 1-60R, Dran Buster 1-60F, and Aero Pegasus 3-60L and found out that Ragna Rage is good as an ANTI-ATTACK counter when using bits such as Low Orb, Ball, and Free Ball. In these testings, I ran Ragna Rage FE 9-60LO.
Ragna Rage’s shape is oval - and you know what else is oval in shape? Garuda, and Hover Wyvern. That would mean it definitely has attack potential. Despite being advertised as a stamina type, most bladers I’ve seen utilized Ragna Rage in attack setups utilizing the Heavy assist blade. But in my testing, I found out that using Ragna Rage in stamina builds works far better than attack setups. The Erase assist blade, despite its thickness, is actually better than heavy when it comes to deflecting and absorbing attacks, especially on Shark Scale 1-70LR. If Ragna Rage survives a big hit from Shark early on in the match, it usually guarantees a win, as Shark’s upper blades just gets parried by the Erase assist blade - a fitting name for the assist blade if I’m being honest. In 20 test matches, Shark Scale only won 6 of those, with 2 bursts and 4 over finishes. This shows that with proper launching, Ragna Rage with the Erase assist blade can counter heavy meta attackers.
Against heavy hitters such as Phoenix and Dran Buster, Ragna Rage with the Erase assist blade actually takes hits like a champ while maintaining solid stamina, and again, the assist blade does most of the work chipping away at the opponent’s stamina. However, do take note that when using stamina bits, getting thrown into the pockets and bursting are your biggest concern.
Against stamina beys however, I think this is Ragna Rage’s weak point. In my testing of 20 matches against Wizard Rod 1-60H, Ragna Rage had a score of 8-12 in favor of Rod. Ragna Rage has outspun Rod only 5 times, with the 3 wins being lucky over finishes. It is still commendable though, but I do think more testing is needed for this blade.
All in all, Ragna Rage with the Erase assist blade is a good anti-attack counter to Shark Scale
and other heavy hitters. Note that in these test matches, I only tested with a friend and results may vary in actual tournament play. However, I believe that with good launch technique and adequate RPM, Ragna Rage is a fitting contender in today’s meta.
