Besides what you might think. PR matters. Gillis fired when we booed. Benning when we chanted to fire him.

To the Canucks PR Team,
I'll keep this short because I think the point makes itself.
I've been a Canucks fan my whole life. After the season we just had, the trust between this fanbase and this organization is hanging by a thread. The last thing we need is a GM hire that makes people throw their hands up.
Pierre Dorion is that hire:
- Seven years in Ottawa. One playoff appearance. A 225-261-59 record.
- Traded Zibanejad to the Rangers for Derick Brassard — Zibanejad went on to be a star in New York.
- Let the Karlsson situation fester publicly until it became a mess, then moved him.
- Fired after the NHL penalized Ottawa a first-round pick and a $1 million fine for the Dadonov no-trade clause debacle.
- The May 4th episode of Canucks Talk breaks it all down if you want the full picture.
Fans aren't asking for miracles. We're asking for a hire that at least signals you're trying. Dorion doesn't do that. It tells us the bar is on the floor, and a lot of people will walk away from this team because of it.
I hope someone in that building is listening.
A Canucks fan,
