My eyes tend to feel dry and sandy shortly after I take potassium citrate supplements. This happens whether I swallow the capsule or dissolve it in water. The same thing also happens when I dissolve salt in water and drink it shortly afterward.

The solution I found was to dissolve one potassium citrate capsule (800 mg elemental potassium) in one liter of water, mix it thoroughly, and then let it sit for one hour. After that, I no longer experience the side effects.
