I cannot figure out how to thin paint no matter how many videos I watch on it.
I feel the wet palette immediately over saturates any paint put on it. I’ve reset my pallete a few times to keep it from being overly wet. I dip my brush in water and wick it off a paper towel.

I went as far as just using a dry palette to test the paint and it seems to breaking as if too wet right out of the bottle.

Things I’ve done:

1. Used a brush dry, added droplets of water beside a pool of paint in the the wet palette. Mixed the two. (Paint seems to be too wet)

2. Wet my brush and dipped it into base paint in the wet palette to thin it. Seems to make it too thin.

Any time I’ve gotten the paint to seem to react correctly (I think). The duration of the paint of the brush last a few strokes on a model. Soon the pool that seems “correct” is gone. And I can’t consistently create the right mix.

The base was dark emerald, then jade, then bright jade. I feel like the jade between is gone and it’s only emerald in the shadows and blotchy bright jade between all over.

Edit: added comparison of another model in just the base coat emerald. I can’t for the life of me figure out how to layer with a brush without it looking extremely choppy

I moved and opened my wet pallete and my foam looked like this. After painting do you throw out the sheet and clean the hydro foam Everytime? I didn’t know the foam would soak up paint like this.
