Hi everyone,
I’m 22F and currently on Absorica 24 mg (isotretinoin). Before starting this medication, I rarely got sick, but over the past ~5 months I keep catching colds way more often than usual. No fevers, just congestion non-stop and occasionally a sort throat with it.
Has anyone else experienced this while on Accutane/Absorica? Is this something that can happen, or could it just be a coincidence? I’ve read online some people say it’s due to the medication lowering WBC?
Also, I’m approaching the 6-month mark and wondering if that’s typically enough time on the medication for lasting results, or if stopping early might affect relapse risk. I had mild acne when starting medication and my skin has been completely clear since the 3 month mark. I’m traveling soon and honestly can’t afford to keep getting sick while away, so I’m considering stopping but want to be smart about it.
Any insight or personal experiences would really help, thank you!
