PROBLEM WITH NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 5060 /AMD RYZEN 7 RADEON 780 GRAPHICS / LENOVO LEGION 5 15AHP10
Hello, I have a Lenovo Legion 5 laptop with an integrated graphics memory and another dedicated one which is the RTX 5060, and I have been having a problem for which I need help since I tried to solve it myself but I couldn't. (Keep in mind that the computer is new)I have performed several troubleshooting steps in an attempt to solve the issue:
- I checked the Windows Event Viewer and confirmed multiple BugCheck errors, mainly with code 0x00000116, corresponding to VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE. There it is also 0x00000133 DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION
- I also identified errors related to the NVIDIA driver, specifically nvlddmkm, including the message “Graphics FECS Exception: UCODE Fatal Error.”
- I performed a complete graphics driver cleanup using DDU in Safe Mode.
- I removed both the NVIDIA and AMD graphics drivers.
- I restarted the system and exited Safe Mode.
- I reinstalled the graphics drivers using Lenovo Vantage to ensure I was using drivers compatible with the laptop model.
- I avoided installing AMD Adrenalin to prevent conflicts caused by mixing drivers from different sources.
- I ran Lenovo hardware diagnostics, including tests for the processor and graphics cards.
- I enabled dGPU Only mode so the system would use only the NVIDIA GPU and avoid conflicts between the integrated AMD GPU and the dedicated NVIDIA GPU.
- I executed the command DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth, which completed successfully.
- I then executed sfc /scannow, and Windows found corrupted files and repaired them successfully.
- I installed the latest NVIDIA Studio Driver from the NVIDIA App to test a more stable driver for creative applications.
- After all these steps, the system continued to experience unexpected restarts with the same VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE 0x00000116 error.
- The issue occurs even during normal tasks such as using Microsoft Edge, Affinity Designer, without running games.
