7 Days to Die: the transition between day and night causes the frame rate to drop
I’ve tried every possible setting – from DLSS to playing without DLSS, from turning everything down to running everything at maximum settings. I’ve tried repairing the game files many times, and playing with and without mods. I’ve tried reinstalling the game from scratch by clearing all files, restarting the PC and reinstalling the game. I don’t have any temperature issues because the highest I’ve seen under load with the CPU was 70–72 degrees, and the same for the GPU, which varies between 64 and 69 degrees under full load. I’ve also tried with XMP disabled and re-enabled, and I’ve tried playing with both the CPU and RAM set to stock settings, but nothing solves the fact that every time dawn or dusk arrives, I experience a consistent and drastic drop in my FPS, going from 200–220 FPS to staying at 55–57–60 FPS with jerky movement. Every time I have to restart the game just to play for a smooth hour, but the same thing happens every time and I have to restart the game all over again. This is only happening to me with version 2.6; it’s never happened with other versions. Can anyone help me? I’m desperate and I’d really hate to give up on the game until a new patch is released.
I have a 4K monitor so I play at 3840x2160p and my setup is as follows:
CPU: 7800X3D
GPU: RTX 5090
RAM: 32GB 6000MHz CL30
SSD: WD Black SN850X NVMe 4TB
MB: Gigabyte X670E AORUS MASTER
