Hello, I am new to programming and I have a project for my studies where I need to use some osm.pbf files and use them in python in a Dijkstra algorithm. However when I try to convert the files to json because it is what I know how to use, most free website say that it is impossible or too heavy to do so.

So my question is do I need to install something to convert them ? Do I pay for some of them ? Or do I give up thinking of using that for my project ?

Any help is appreciated, if possible I would like something that is free but if there is no other options, I'm can pay
