I’ve been a GC holder for 6 years but left the US 2 years ago to move back home. Never updated anything and now I want to travel into the US. Possible?
So technically I am still a green card holder, my GC has not expired. But 2 years ago we left as a family to move back to where I’m from, and I never even thought to update anything with regards to my green card. Just left it as is.
It’s been 2 years since I left the states and we are considering travelling back to the states for some family business. Honestly, I never even thought about the logistics visa wise, but is it possible to travel back into the states now temporarily? Should I consult with an immigration attorney before I travel? Will I be questioned at the border considering I’ve basically abandoned my Green Card? Should I get a tourist visa? Of course I’ll continue looking into this, but has anyone else dealt with this that has some advice? Thanks!
