Choosing the right hardware

Hey all,

I’m planning the setup for my home and wanted to sanity-check my hardware choices before before buying everything.

**Edit: My current plan will be 2.5gb, but ISP said 4gb will be avaible in Q4 of 2026.

Here’s what I’m currently looking at:

Cloud Gateway Fiber

Switch Pro Max 16 PoE

2x U6+ Access Points

UniFi Doorbell Lite

PoE Smart Chime

10G DAC cable

A couple things I’m unsure about:

Are the U6+ APs still a good choice in 2026, or should I be looking at something newer?

Am I missing anything obvious (or wasting money somewhere)?

For context: medium-sized double storey home, a lot of wired devices, growing number of IoT devices, and I like to tinker but don’t need enterprise-level complexity.

Would really appreciate any feedback, especially from people running similar setups.

Thanks!
