I have a Hyundai Tucson 2020 (1.6 diesel, ~157k km) and my DPF seems to be clogged.

Did forced regen → error came back same day

Car went into limp mode again

Had some white smoke before

Mechanics say the DPF is probably physically clogged.

Now I’m thinking about using a DPF/SCR emulator instead of replacing the filter. The manufacturer says:

it only works if soot level is below 20%

need to reset values first

not recommended to remove DPF (possible smoke)

So I’m confused.

Has anyone tried an emulator on these cars (especially with Kefico ECU)?

Does it actually work long-term?

What happens if you remove DPF with emulator only (no remap)?

Or is it just better to replace/clean the DPF?
