Went in to confirm I am having twins today and both babies are looking great! Strong heartbeats and growth right on time. They did tell me it looks like they could be Mo/Mo twins which is pretty scary as they explained all of the associated risks with such a pregnancy. I am holding out hope that somehow it’ll turn out to be Mo/Di twins and it’s just too early to tell. I go back in 2 weeks to hopefully clear things up and do my genetic testing as well. I am beyond overwhelmed and hoping for the best!

Today was supposed to be my 8 week appointment, but it was cancelled this morning due to my OB being sick. My soon-to-be MIL suggests I get a private ultrasound done at our local nonprofit pregnancy clinic since my Fiancée took time off of work and we were both excited to see another ultrasound since he couldn’t be at my 6 week appt. They do an abdominal first and everything looks great, I even see a little flicker of a heartbeat. Then they do a transvaginal and behold she finds 2 heartbeats and what she thinks is 2 yolk sacs. “Baby A” is at 120 bpm and “Baby B” is at 133, and they were both measuring 7w 2 days instead of 7w 6 days like I had expected. Anyways… I’m in major denial and telling myself maybe she read it wrong and it’s still just one baby somehow. I find out for sure what’s going on this coming Monday, but until then I’m freaking out because HUH?!

TLDR: They found 2 heartbeats
