"Is this worth editing?" And posts like it.
I have seen these posts pop up alot, there are a couple problems with this question. The main one is that its very subjective, whats the build trying to do, how do you value your time and resources?
So i thought I would at least put this up, to maybe help people decide if its worth editing or not with some basic guidelines.
Do you have all your copies?: copy items are by far the rarest item we have at the moment. If your build is missing more then one copy (that you want for the build, not every build needs 3 copies) or the rest of build isnt perfect, wasting a copy item isnt something most will recommend.
Is your gear set valuable?: if you had a gear set in mind, with upgrades or engravings, did you manage to get it? We cannot edit gear in any way after a run, if the gear isnt up to snuff, it might be better to rerun the chaos. Sure not every set has to be perfect, but it should supply some value to the build.
Do you have the season cards/neutral cards you want?: if you failed to get the seasonal or neutral cards you wanted, we cannot add them. It best to rerun or handle the save as is, no need to edit.
Did the deck save properly?: if you went over cost, you might get cards added back, or copies removed. However the save data will remember the removals and copies, and will mess with editing. Sadly there is no way to fix this as of now, best to rerun.
Ok, now that you have made this far, you now have a deck that has the copies, has the removals, or at least saved properly, with passable gear and all the neutral cards you want. What now? Well lets start with clear cut scenarios.
Your deck and gear is good, but you need divines added: well this is relatively easy, divines are pretty cheap, and have an infinite supply. If you need 1-2 proper divines, go for it without worry. Especially if the divine options on your cards are limited in number. If you need more, it depends on who you value your time/odds of getting a better base deck.
Your deck and gear is good, and you have proper divines, but you need different epiphanies: also straight forward. While the items are more expensive, they target specific epiphanies without removing divines. Go ahead edit away.
Your deck and gear are good, but you need generic epiphanies such as draw, or moral: random items, fairly cheap, go for it.
Your deck is good, and your gear is perfect, but your missing a copy: honestly, go for it if you really want to, but it might be worth it to wait and see what the great rift involves. And what added benefits to the seasonal chaos system we get with its release.
Your deck is good, your gear sucks/doesnt play with the deck you want, or you didnt get important neutrals: I would recommend going again through chaos. Copies, neutrals and gear are the most deciding factor when it comes to editing a deck now, since we cannot edit gear, or add neutrals and copy items are limited.
Your gear and neutrals are perfect, but your deck is a mess: if you managed to at least get copies on the right cards, I would say its worth thinking about. It might take an inordinate amount of items to craft it into a perfect deck, but the end result would be better then if you crafted a perfect deck with bad items. However if you are missing copies, or have them on the wrong cards, it will suck, but its best to rerun.
You dont know if your gear is good, or your deck is good: why are you asking if it should be edited? We dont know what you want to do. Look up resources or plan a deck yourself, or even ask here, whats a good deck to build for a certain character. It is better then asking if a deck should be edited without a clear goal in mind.
Maybe no one will care about this, but I thought this might be easier then posting the same things in post after post. Good luck with your chaos runs all.
