Is this okay to send out?

Hey everyone, so I’m 20 weeks pregnant and my husband and I have drafted a message to send to our immediate families just before giving birth. Everyone is really excited to meet the baby, but we wanted to make sure these ‘rules’ were respected amongst all the excitement. Is it rude to send it out or totally okay? None of my siblings sent anything like this out so I’m not sure if we’re being overly cautious??

Here’s the message:

Hi everyone 🤍

We’re so excited for you to meet our little one soon. Before visits begin, we just wanted to share a few gentle guidelines to help keep baby safe and give us a bit of peace of mind in these early days:

- Please don’t visit if you’re feeling unwell or have recently been in contact with anyone who is sick (for healthcare workers we kindly ask you wear a face mask during your visit)
- Please let us know in advance before visiting (this really helps us prepare, especially as mum may need time to get covered)
- Please wash your hands before holding the baby
- Please avoid wearing strong perfumes or scents
- Please avoid kissing the baby (face, hands, or anywhere)
- Please don’t post or share any photos, or announce the birth—we’re looking forward to sharing our news ourselves

Thank you so much for understanding and for helping us protect our baby. We truly appreciate your love and support, and we can’t wait for you to meet them 💛

* editing because lost of people misunderstood. I’m not sending this message out now at 20 weeks - I was planning on sending it a week before birth
