I got into both schools for public health, and I cannot decide where I should commit.
For reference, I live 30 minutes from Irvine and about an hour from SD, and I plan on commuting for either school.
My conflict is that my parents prefer UCSD over UCI, and they are paying my tuition. However, I plan on going pre dental, and I am shadowing/interning at an office already in Irvine, and I would like to continue there.
If I decide on UCSD, I don’t know if I will be able to commit to classes, my shadowing, and other activities I need to do like volunteering or possibly research if I dedicate so much time to commuting.
For UCI, it fits what I want in terms of having a good education while being able to commit to activities, but I have been told that it’s not as good of a school as UCSD, and some negative comments about it having so many rich/spoiled people (which I don’t know if it’s true or not).
I know it’s just two years of college left for me, and that the school for undergrad does not matter too much, but I still want to make a good decision as it will be the last time I can transfer.
I would greatly appreciate any advice!
