Do I fight for calc bc

basically I’m a sophomore in regular precalc (I dropped down from honors algebra II+trig which u did freshman year due to mental health) and am in AP world, honors English, honors chem, honors and engineering (shouldn’t be honors), and regular Spanish. As a result I can only take AP calc ab next year instead of taking AP calc bc, which would be better for a mechanical engineering major. Because of this, I emailed the math head who said I can’t do it because honors precalc is the hardest class at my hs and is made to prepare students for BC. But there’s someone else at my school who 3 weeks ago emailed from their parents email and got a placement test and was able to get in. So I’m kinda wondering if this is something I should do also or just like give up. Also my math teacher told me it’ll be like reaaaaaaaly hard if I move to BC and that there’s a barrier for a reason even though I have a 97% and am not locked in her class. Keep in mind I’ll be taking AP bio, a push, and AP lang next year to which seems uneccesssry if I won’t push myself mathematically.

TLDR: Do I fight to move up to calc bc from regular precalc even though everyone tells me not to as a current sophomore
