Fitness after hysterectomy

Twelve months ago I fully committed to weight training and less cardio to improve strength and lower my cortisol. I got in decent shape and was on my way to feeling healthy and toned… that was until I ended up back in the familiar two steps forward one step back dance that comes with navigating a heavy menstrual cycle.

Around December I had a severe progesterone intolerance which caused, well let’s just say a scary mental health episode. After some discussions with my GP I was sent for a an ultrasound and received a triple diagnosis of endo, ovarian cysts and suspected adenemo.

I’ve had four months of what can only be described as debilitating fatigue, my hysterectomy is scheduled for 19th June and I guess my question is, does anyone have success stories of getting fully into fitness again and maybe even better than before due to no longer having menstrual cycles to work around.

I feel like a defeated sloth and could do with a positive read. Thanks x
