Let’s see some of your favorite vintage toy digs!

It’s a vintage 1950s-1960s toy cap gun derringer (specifically a Hubley Halco “Diamond H” model or very close Leslie-Henry variant made for Halco distribution).

Hey r/metaldetectingindiana 👋

Now that the welcome post is live, let’s get this group rolling with some REAL Indiana dirt!

Here’s my favorite coin dig so far — this beautiful 1908 Barber dime I pulled out of the ground in Southern Indiana

She came out looking fantastic for a dug silver coin — crisp details on Lady Liberty, that sharp wreath on the reverse, and even the “D” mint mark is still popping. One of those finds that still makes me smile every time I look at it.

[Attach your 3 photos here: the obverse in the dirt showing the 1908 date, the reverse in the dirt with “ONE DIME”, and the close-up of the reverse]

What about you guys? Drop pics of YOUR favorite coin dig from Indiana and tell us the story:

• What coin/year/condition?

• Where exactly in the state did you find it?

• How deep was it?

• What machine/coil were you using?

• Any cool backstory from the hunt?

Wheaties, Indian Heads, Buffalos, Seateds, Mercs, Barbers, large cents — I wanna see them all! The crustier the dirt, the better the story.

Let’s flood this sub with some serious Indiana coin porn and bragging rights!

Can’t wait to see what you’ve been digging up, Hoosiers. Happy hunting! 🧲🌽🪙
