We got two young male budgies last weekend and they’re already doing really well. They’re eating well, sleeping well, and we often catch them talking to one another with cute sounds. They’ve also been out of the cage already and feel comfortable taking millet from our hands.
The one thing that worries me: they have several moments per day where they’ll act like in the video. Often flying to one another with loud screeches. One minute later they could be preening again being quiet. It reads as territorial behavior, but is is normal that that lasts for a week now? They do like to be close to one another at the same time (when sleeping, chilling, exploring, etc). They’ve also both have a food bowl although they both prefer the same one. They do let each other eat most of the time though.
Sounds like in the video are fine for us and they’re free to make them but we just want to be sure we have nothing to worry about and that they don’t hate one another lol.
