There's a post about pet peeves and "what makes you click out instantly" every other day, so I wanted to know: what is the most self-indulgent fic (or fics) you're either working on currently or have written that would probably be contender for people on this sub to nope out of?

Me personally, I'm writing a male reader-insert/canon one-shot for a series that's come back into the spotlight recently. According to this sub, likely no one will read it, but the plot bunnies have been leaving droplets everywhere in my brain.

(I mean for this to be a more lighthearted topic as opposed to complaining, so don't take any offense. People are allowed to like or dislike what they want.)

His recruitment options, in general, as well.

So, after several years, I've decided to replay through Three Houses, except with Male Byleth.

And, I never realized how favored Female Byleth is over him in terms of same sex options. Plus, she gets a free Sylvain on top of that.

Honestly, it feels malicious how they did him, given the options he has (excluding DLC, which honestly doesn't narrow the gap between them).

So, I was thinking what I would change if given the ability, and I came up with:

• Make either Claude or Dimitri romanceable by Male Byleth, or both of them. I'd do both of them just to "match" Edelgard, but some might argue for only one guy Lord.
• Give him a "free" girl recruitment to mirror Sylvain. I personally landed on Dorothea.
• Take away Gilbert and Alois as "marriages." Replace them with Seteth >!since they're trying to convince me Male Byleth has a thing for old married men with kids. !<Whether Seteth is worth two marriage supports is subjective. There's also Hanneman, who I'd honestly take over the other two lol
• Maybe make Leonie a possible "free" join, provided you C rank with her in White Clouds. It's more a flavor thing I thought of after doing her C rank.

As for his supports, these would be completely subjective, and I think. But, if it were me:

• I'd probably replace Lindhardt with Sylvain, because he'd be interesting to me as a same sex option, considering his whole backstory and complex. Plus, again, it would mirror Female Byleth in this hypothetical---Female Byleth can romance Dorothea and get free Sylvain; Male Byleth can romance Sylvain and get free Dorthea.
• I'd probably choose Ferdinand or Lorenz, but I can't actually think of a reason why outside of bias and favoritism lol

So, I'm honestly just kind of curious what other people would do. Maybe some people are fine with how things turned out, which I'd also be interested in hearing about.
