I've seen comments for the last soon 2 years about how Hoary Boulder is amazing and peak, how the story adds up with his background, that his actions and results from them are irreplacable, he is the reason this is the best expansion ever, and so on.

While all of that may be true, it has to be mentioned that his actual longterm plan is incredible and people seriously need to reconsider their opinion on him, and if they left a negative Steam review to change it back to positive.

Now I won't lie, we did get a peak MSQ. Whenever it shaped up to be cool, like going through Wild West area with Coultenet and having fun, only to get lovingly embraced back to Hoary looking at funky sci-fi tech.

But having this journey of agony finally gave players something they never realized they had forgotten a long time ago, which is their voice. The voice of reason to say "This is a dawntrail but with no dawn"

And it made Yoshi not only listen to the complaints so rapidly that he even re-worked 7.1 to steer course to something we all love, Hoary Boulder and the other scions and other shenanigans we've dealt with several times already. He also addressed everything people have requested for years now but accepted that it "just would be done". Clearly it would be, and oh boy did Yosh-man not hold back.

Thanks to Hoary Boulder's sacrifice, all of our wishes have been implemented, or soon will be, such as:

• Limited glam system? Nah fam, put that healer thong on your Machnist, or tanks' chasity cage shorts on your Black Mage.
• Dyes taking up too many spots? Not anymore, enjoy having space for other junk you should discard now.
• We've added a brazillion furniture items? Now you got space to store and even use them, buckaroo.
• 2 minute meta is boring, and Yoshi is moving away from it faster than we moved on from Dawntrail.
• Class rotations are too similar and lack identity, so we've put Peeveepee-san to make it funky again.
• Can't fit everything in glam dresser and Yoshi Prada can't fit all his heavy metal t-shirts in it, time to make armory great again.
• Our Second Life erotica-fandom wanna make clothing skimpier, so now we can remove bits and pieces from clothing in next expansion.
• Want more hair colours? We can do better, be the Chort you wanna be, change skin colour freely too!
• Tired of Tomestomes? Me too said Yoshi and hired 14 interns to re-do the system, just for you and me, and himself.
• And many many more, not even Kim Possible from the dead Chaos data center could list it all to come, but at least the chorts there can easily queue with chort Lights now.

All I'm saying is, it's time to unbutton your shirt/blouse and deepthrustly apologize to our oversized gigachad savior. After all with a list like this, He has clearly accomplished more than any minor side-kittens, like Shtola.

A little backstory to the question-- i've recently been playing through Ultra Moon for the first time since i skipped it originally back when it came out and wanted to make a 'for fun' team including mons that i just enjoy, Arbok and Wailord amidst those. On Wailord i had thought to run Aqua Ring alongside Leftovers to accommodate the huge HP stat he has for some fun, but have found it to be quite underwhelming, even alongside leftovers, with Pokemon still just out damaging their healing together. Thinking about it during this time i wondered if Aqua Ring had ever even been used competitively at all, as i don't recall even stall mons wanting it since it takes up an entire move slot to do what Leftovers already does.

What could be a reasonable rework to Aqua Ring to improve it but not necessarily make it overpowered? Some ideas:

- Allowing it to Cure Status on the turn its' used alongside the Health Regen?

- Move that does low damage (around 20bp) and swaps you out, giving the pokemon that comes in the effect of Aqua Ring? (Could also make it priority to prevent the abuse of slow swapping moves being super strong)

- Maybe make it recover more HP per turn while in rain/if activated while in the rain?

- When used it also applies the effects of Water Sport to the battlefield?

- Perhaps giving the Water Veil ability an upgrade that lets Pokemon constantly regenerate HP while on the field as if Aqua Ring is active, whilst keeping the immunity to Burns? (Dondozo is the only Pokemon i'd imagine could 'abuse' this but i know it loves unaware.)

It's a move i've always loved thematically but have never really been able to make work, so let me know if these ideas are worth anything, i feel the only one here that could be overpowered would be the flip turn-adjacent one.
