The Butthole Surfers - Cough Syrup

She played for the Angels I played for the tribe The summer had been stolen and the bases were all loaded There was big money on the line Big money all the time yeah There was big money on the line

I can't walk so I guess I'm gonna stay at home They can have my legs just leave my mail alone

I was in the kitchen The year was in the fall A friend of mine had told me that there were no point in mopin' No there were no point at all There was big fire in the hall, yeah There weren't no points at all

I can't walk so I guess I'm gonna stay at home They can have my legs just leave my mail alone And I can't talk so I guess I got nothin' to say I'll keep my eyes just take these tears away

Lock, stock, and barrel all the dogs were gone to feral And the car ran like a broken perculator His liver had gone hard and he wouldn't mow the yard There was big money on the line

I can't walk so I guess I'm gonna stay at home They can have my legs just leave my mail alone.

I was in the kitchen The year was in the fall A friend of mine had told me that there were no point in mopin' No there were no point at all There was big fire in the hall, yeah There weren't no points at all

And I heard that his brother was a viking He liked to solve a problem with a gun If you want to know the facts you gotta teach him how to act And I hate cough syrup don't you?

I'd rather be a sailor than a fighter I'd like to sail a ship into the sun If you wanna know the truth you gotta dig up Johnny Booth And I hate cough syrup don't you?

I know that your mother is a martyr I heard she's got connections with the mob If you wanna learn to fight you gotta drink up all the light And I hate cough syrup don't you?

I'd rather be a matchstick than a lighter I like to see the wood curl up and burn If you wanna touch the sky you must be prepared to die And I hate cough syrup don't you?

I hate cough syrup and I hate the food in Europe And I hate cough syrup it's true You wanna know the truth you gotta dig up Johnny Booth And I hate cough syrup don't you? I hate cough syrup, it's true.

The Sheer Importance Of Population Density.

The user CaveDave has done a very good job of differentiating the contrast in Population Difference between High-Density Counties and Low-Density Counties.

Each individual County Council has a minimum of 18 Council seats. Surely, this should highlight how rural Ireland really is.

In Leitrim, we can observe Martin Kenny (SF, North Leitrim) and Frank Feighan (FG, South Leitrim).

In Longford, we can observe Micheál Carrigy (FG) along with Boxer Moran (IND).

Now, if we can get even more specific, we can show that Limerick County has more TDs per capita than any other Constituency (á la Adrian Kavanagh)

When it comes to Constituencies of Lower Consensequence, like Dublin Central, we can observe how there are only 14 councillors (across two wards), who are fundamentally less influential compared to the 18 Council seats of Leitrim or Longford.

Even in the upcoming Galway West Bye-Election, Galway City returns 18 seats, and Commemara returns 9 council seats.

Every single Constituency is dominated by it's own Population Density. The lower the Population Density, the less likely The Left is to win a seat

Velyki Ukraïntsi (2008 Television Poll for the Greatest Ukrainians)

>The Greatest Ukrainians (Ukrainian: Великі українці, romanized: Velyki ukrainstsi) was a Ukrainian TV project. The programme was the result of a vote conducted to determine whom the Ukrainian public considers the greatest Ukrainians to have lived in history. According to Savik Shuster, more than 2.5 million people participated in the voting.[1][2][3]

>The TV show was broadcast on Inter being 90–180 minutes long during Sunday prime-time. The host of the program, Savik Shuster, started primaries (pre-voting) during his other Friday talk show The Freedom with Savik Shuster. The co-host of the programme was Inter's news anchor Hanna Homonai. Pre-voting took place in a number of Ukrainian cities such as Kyiv, Lviv, Yalta, Kharkiv, Odesa, Donetsk, Simferopol, Nizhyn, Mykolaiv, Ostroh, Chernivtsi, and Kamianets-Podilskyi.

>On 11 April 2008, the top 100 of Great Ukrainians were announced. The top 10 was to be re-voted, and the results were shown on 16 May 2008. The final top 10 were:[4]

>Yaroslav I the Wise (978–1054) (40%)

>Mykola Amosov (1913–2002) (19.88%)

>Stepan Bandera (1909–1959) (16%)

>Taras Shevchenko (1814–1861) (9.3%)

>Bohdan Khmelnytskyi (1595–1657) (4.02%)

>Valeriy Lobanovskyi (1939–2002) (3.18%)

>Viacheslav Chornovil (1937–1999) (2.63%)

>Hryhoriy Skovoroda (1722–1794) (1.73%)

>Lesia Ukrainka (1871–1913) (1.64%)

>Ivan Franko (1856–1916) (1.49%)

Oh, wow! Look at what it looks like as the list goes on :

>23. Volodymyr Lenin (1870–1924) communist revolutionary and political theorist

Now, why would these staunch anti-Communist Ukrainians galvanise this Russian Communist? Is it maybe because Ukraine peaked whilst part of the Soviet Union?

What's more, is you have three other Ukrainians from the Soviet Union on the list :

>17. Serhiy Korolyov (1907–1966) rocket engineer for Soviet Union

>67. Ivan Mykolaichuk (1941–1987) Soviet actor

>95. Oleg Koshevoy (1926–1943) Soviet partisan

Now, what I find interesting is the absense of Nikita Khrushchev, who, whilst Russian, cared very deeply for the people of Ukraine.

It was Nikita, as the leader of the Ukrainian SSR, who demanded that Lviv be transferred from Poland to the Ukranian SSR whilst Stalin was re-drawing the borders of Eastern Europe after WW2.

It was also Khrushchev who added Crimea to the Ukranian SSR in 1956 as a Show of Friendship.

The fact that Bandera is Number Three in terms of National Heroes, shows some serious problems in the Ukrainian National Character, and that Lenin is 23rd shows a significant level of confusion.

The Tantalising Nature of Ray McAdam's Election Posters

Now, McAdam has already been in a scandal, spending 6K "promoting" Ireland in San Francisco.

However, concerning Adventures Close To Home, his team has not tried to inundiate himself with the people of Dublin, despite his role as Mayor.

Now, I walk through Smithfield regularly. Specifically, I sometimes walk through Bow Street, which has a food drive for the homeless.

One FG poster was very predominantly shown, right in front of "Brother Lukes" ( AKA the Capuchin Day Centre).

Why does Ray McAdam feel the urge to place his poster on this particular street? He never had a poster on any other streets related to homelessness.

Was FG simply trying to make a point? Were they simply "having the craic"? They have to know that they don't stand a chance. Did they simply know that they would lose this Bye-Election, and they were effectively mocking us? Mocking the lowest-income individuals of this Constituency?

What happened next? Ray McAdam had his poster torn down, right outside of the Capuchin Day Centre. I say, whoever ripped it down, did a huge service for the Working Poor of Dublin 7.

>BOYLAN (SINN FÉIN)

>ENNIS (SOCIAL DEMOCRATS)

>HORNER (GREEN PARTY)

>O CEANNABHAIN (PEOPLE BEFORE PROFIT)

>O'DEA (THE LABOUR PARTY)

>McADAM (FINE GAEL)

>STEPHENS (FIANNA FÁIL)

>Independents like Hutch, Steensen and a bunch of randoms (but no Clare Daly).

Quite frankly, this batch of Candidates is very poor. Quite frankly, we deserve better. This part of Dublin has been battered by drugs, and later battered by gentrification.

Compared to the year that I was born, housing in my Childhood Neighbourhood is about 12-13 times more expensive. I was born in the 90s.

Back in the day, both of my parents gave a First Preference to Tony Gregory every single election. These days, that type of politician no longer exists.

I don't know about you, but I actually liked Roddy Doyle's Dublin. As a matter of fact, he actually taught my uncle English in Secondary School.

People in the rest of the country used to make fun of us. They would make jokes about unemployment and drug addiction, fear about violent crime.

I never felt any of this, I had a blast in the North Inner City as a kid. Unfortunately, we were priced out and had to move to a small village in the Bog of Allen.

Since then, neighbourhoods like Stoneybatter, Smithfield and Fizzbra have become incredibly popular with the same types hipsters who made fun of us as teenagers, galvanised by publications and Mass Immigration (many will deny this, but it is absolutely a Factor).

Man, I wish we had somebody like Tony Gregory again.

Personally, I was unaware of Comade Kirov until I was in an Easons waiting for a bus.

I was leafing through the various magazines, one of which was focused on the Soviet Union.

This magazine had a section dedicated to the assassination of Sergei Kirkov, who I never heard of before.

Did the NKVD order this execution? Did Stalin implement the Purges because of this?

The 21st Century is not coincidental,
North American academics from the late 80s-early 90s from Universities like Berkerley and Vancouver write the script of Intersectional Neoliberalism.

In Ireland, we implemented the Industrial Relation Act (1991), which banned Solidarity Srikes and Wildcat Strikes.

Even in other countries, like Norway, they implemented Property Taxes in 1991.

The fact of the matter, is that we would be better off with the continued existence of the Soviet Union, so that the Maastricht Treaty wouldn't have to exist.

I signed up 8 years ago, primarily because I wanted to avail of HAP. I was evicted, just for asking about HAP, and I ended up in a Homeless Shelter.

Now :

My first region, I am 250 in the list.

My second region, I am 290 in the list.

In the third region, I am about 550 in the list.

That is how it works, you get to pick three regions of the city, if there is too much demand, you do not get to pick another region.

There are so few Social Housing units being built, with only one new unit being available per week, this will relegate me to waiting roughly five and half years to experience some Social Stability.

Now, I have gone through 7 different landlords, ever since I was a teenager, but the recent legislation implemented by FFG would make me never want to deal with a new Landlord again.

Red C/Business Post Opinion Poll

SF 25% (+1) FG 16% (-2) FF 16% (-) SD 8% (-) IND IRE 7% (+2) AON 6% (-) LAB 4% (-) GP 3% (-) SPBP 3% (-) IND 12% (-)

The Prospective Left-Wing Government at 43%, FFG at 32%.

Even if all INDs aligned with FFFG, it would be 44%.

Even if SF, FF and SD made 49%, I wouldn't be so sure.
