They were caught with a GPS tracker in the rental car that was surveilling their home; they planned to break into the garage and put on the couples car... they even carried fake documentation for "a person of interest" , so if they were stopped by local police (pretending to be FBI or something similar).
7 employees were criminally charged; the worst getting 57mos in jail for organizing it:
5 got jail time of 12+mos + probation
2 got home confinement
The company was criminally charged for destruction of evidence since they tried to delete records after the van driver was arrested.
That suit ONLY cost the company $4million, which is absurdly low in my opinion.
BACK TO MY FIRST SENTENCE: then CEO was dismissed and given $57M severance package, which they chose to not claw back despite clauses in place to do it.
Thats $61M they essentially stole from their shareholders in this incident alone.... they even been stealing from shareholders for Lord knows how long... its a good Ole boy club if ive ever heard of one, with a culture of stealing for personal gain. Gamestop, gme
