Doing a full reno of a 3m x 2m bathroom, budget is around $40k if possible, might have to stretch to $50k or more because it's hard to get it under that in Canberra.
Current waterproofing has failed with shower leaking to the floor below. For the new one I am considering a solid surface shower base like these: https://www.wetareas.com.au/custom-shower-base/
It looks a good solution - a bit more expensive up front, but no screed needed, no grout to clean and no tile splits needed for the fall. Might be more waterproof too. It would still have waterproofing underneath as well.
They don't seem popular in Australia - perhaps because people associate them with the cheap polymarble ones which feel flimsy, but these are better quality and come in different colours just like a benchtop.
Any experiences with these shower bases?
Cheers
