I know we don't read comics here, but I just want to take a moment to mourn ReadComicOnline. It's a sad day today.
I'm sure some people are going to say its a good thing that it got taken down and that we shouldn't pirate comics, but readcomiconline was how I decided what comics I wanted to buy. I don't really care enough about the hobby to want to own everything, I just want to own the books I really like so I can revisit them whenever I want. Even if I did care, I wouldn't really be able to afford it anyways, I get comics pretty exclusively during Christmas and Birthdays. Piracy gave me a way to check out books and make a decision on whether or not I want to support it without having to worry about a monthly subscription that I can't afford on a lifeguard salary.
Always remember what Hakita, creator of Ultrakill, said regarding piracy: Culture shouldn't exist only for those who can afford it.
