Hello! Little request for pattern interpretation help. I'm knitting this sweater from My Favourite Things, and am ready to the split for the ribbed hem at the bottom of the body.

It says specifically to do the front hem first but my yarn is currently on the back side of my piece (green tipped needle is front, pink tipped is back and between them is the BOR marker which sits under my right armhole).

With the edge stitches instructed in the pattern it feels weird to go for the front half first - does this matter? Should I ignore the pattern and do the back first?
