Brake rotors: are 1.8 and 2.0 +- interchangeable?

I have some entry level Tektro brakes on my bike, I can't even see the specific model printed on them, but looking at the images on their website it seems they take 1.8mm rotors. But I can't be 100% sure.

So my question is.. I found a good deal on some 2.0mm rotors, will they work? Or should I get 1.8 for sure? I'm thinking if I made a mistake the other way around (needs 2.0 and I buy 1.8) it will be much worse since its like I got rotors with half their life gone :|

Thanks (:

Different wheels for front and back

Hi everyone,

I used to ride a lot a bunch of years ago, mostly enduro type of riding with an amazing lapierre spicy, went to megavalanche a few times, it was great.

Now I'm older, with kids, and I bought a more touring/gravel bike which I plan to use for some singletrack riding nearby, and for this use case I'm thinking about getting some second hand dt swiss 540, 24 spokes, which should more than handle it considering i'm under 70kg (155lbs)

But I also plan to do some light offroad with a kid on the back, on a child seat (and yes, my new "singletrack shredding machine" has a back rack lol), hopefully they'll start enjoyng rides in nature and so on (: sometimes with some cargo as well when they get older

and for this use case I'm questioning if I should get a different rear wheel, either 540 rims in the 32 spoke version, or some of those more heavy duty wheels made for e-bikes and so on, with 32/36 spokes, etc

note: the touring bike I got is rated for 170kg, which I guess I'll never pass, even with kid on the back + cargo for a few days adventure, but it makes me feel a bit silly to limit this due to a more fragile back wheel which will get a lot of weight on it for a specific use case

Thanks for your input! 😃
