We planned a family vacation to Punta Cana for spring break leaving Sunday April 26. My oldest also just had her 8th grade DC trip which has sucked up all my attention. Friday when she got home, we pivoted to vacation mode.
We go to pull out the passports and mine is missing. After a thorough search and freaking out, I made an appt at the Boston agency for 8:30 am Monday in case it didn’t turn up. Turned the house upside down with no luck.
We changed my flight on Saturday. Family leaves for PC Sunday afternoon. I go home to get my passport paperwork in order.
Arrive at the passport agency at 8:15am and get right in. All paperwork in order, show them my rather tight timeline and flight out of Boston at 1:30pm. I get a return receipt and was told at least 2 hour turnaround.
I wait outside and in under an hour, they called and my passport was ready! Shocked, delighted, and so unbelievably grateful!
Now sitting at the airport having a much needed margarita and looking forward to vacation with the family!
Don’t be like me. Check your passport location well before your international trip! I got really lucky.
