Looking for advice for students who are feeling behind their peers
As I was taking a break from studying for exams, looking for oppurtunities to work or volunteer, I came to the really hard realisation that I have virtually done nothing during my university life. I have not done any research, joined any clubs, or found any jobs. I really want to start getting more involved, but my fear of rejection and failure is really holding me back. I keep on thinking that nobody would want to hire or take a student who is about to be in their fourth year with virtually no real experience (other than mandatory labs and part time jobs I had in high school), and that thought is keeping me from getting myself out there.
I will have to take 5 years to graduate due to some poor course planning/switching programs in my second year, and my cGPA isn't exactly stellar (3.65). Does anyone have any advice for getting myself out there, or stories of success as someone who was in my position? I am super stressed and sad so anything would help. Thanks!
