After a lovely burst of growth, I gave these girls their final training session, a light defoliation, and will let them recover for another week or so before flipping. I can tell the Mimosa already has a stretchy personality, and the Wedding Cake is remarkably robust and stalky. Thanks to Pacific Seed Bank for these exciting genetics. Next grow will be an Afghan adventure, with Afghan Kush and Mazar I Sharif.

After purchasing my dream indoor grow setup, the Mars Hydro 4x4 and FC-4800 EVO, I ran two grows to get used to the basics of cannabis growing. I started with four fabric pots, Happy Frog soil and worm castings trialing a run of Blueberry Pancakes and PPD by Humboldt. I struggled to water correctly with the fabric pots due to the soil drying quickly, and with the light set far too bright the plants foxtailed. My next grow was Limez (Key Lime Pie x Long Point Lime), one of Humboldt’s best washer strains. I used this run to trial growing in a sub-irrigated planter with Coast of Maine Stonington Blend to reduce watering frequency, and I made sure to not stress the plants with the light being too bright. For the current grow (pictured above) I wanted to trial manifolding with two mains vs. four mains. Seeds were from Pacific Seed Bank. I will let these girls veg and get bushier for the next two weeks and then flip, training further with a SCROG net. Any tips or tricks from seasoned growers are appreciated. My next grow will be Afghan Kush and Mazar I Sharif (Also Pacific Seed Bank).
