I'm 1900, trying to hit 2000. I play the Sicillian and I have one win and 9 losses for my last 10 alapin games. I push d4, and example position I see a lot occurs after (1e4, c5 2. C3, d5 3. ed, qxd5 4 d4, cd 5.cd Nc6 6. Nf3, Bg4 7. Be7.. I of course capture the knight if they play 7. Nc3. But after Be7 I feel stumped. I know the engine move is Nf6, and if they play Nc3 I'd probably go Qa5 or Qd2. But I still end up on the losing end of these positions. What do you guys do? Anyone have experience in these types of positions
