Hi everyone,

I’ve recently been researching the Berger Belge Groenendael and I’m seriously considering getting one. I’ve come across a few listings online (often labeled “berger belge groenendael à vendre”), but before making any decisions, I wanted to hear from experienced dog owners here.

From what I’ve learned so far, they seem incredibly intelligent, loyal, and energetic but I also understand they may not be the best fit for everyone.

For those who own or have experience with this breed:

How demanding are they in terms of daily exercise and mental stimulation?
Are they suitable for first-time owners, or better for experienced handlers?
How do they typically behave around families, children, or other pets?
Any common health concerns I should be aware of?
What should I look for in a responsible breeder?

I’m not looking to rush into anything, I want to make sure I can provide the right environment and care before committing.

Any advice, personal experiences, or things you wish you knew beforehand would really help!
