I recently found out I was expecting. I called my doctor and she referred us to a gynaecologist/ obstetrician. The gyno office called me and asked me to schedule an app 8 weeks after my last period which is fine I know that is normal practice. Although my friend told me she was booked in straight away. My last period was end of March.

They booked me for next Monday. Then they called me yesterday to reschedule for Tuesday, I agreed. But later found out that it doesn’t work for my partner so I called them back. I asked them if they have a later time for that Monday because of course I want to be seen soon but they told me that the doctor doesn’t see patients on Mondays.. but why did they book me in on a Monday to begin with?! So now I’m booked in for Thursday.

I can’t help but feel that next Thursday is so far away?! I know the first trimester is so important and I’m starting to feel a bit nervous about how this scheduling is being conducted.

I ended up looking at reviews and there seems to be a mix reaction on this clinic. I also read that if you’re not happy with your current clinic you can change but how often can you change? I don’t know if it’s just the bias of the reviews that are getting to me but I also noticed the phone operator didn’t even ask if I’m feeling okay, if I need to be seen earlier, is it my first pregnancy. I don’t know it just all seems kind of dismissive.

I don’t know if I’m overthinking it or should I ask my doctor to refer me elsewhere?

I’d appreciate any advice.
