After nearly two decades in Canon ecosystem, i've finally pulled the plug and sold most of my EF/RF gear. Two years with GFX changed the way i shoot and edit and ever since matching my R colors to Fuji was a nightmare. I'm moving my entire professional workflow (doc-style, studio tethered and a bit of video) to Fuji.
I've been testing XH2 and i'm sold on the sooc RAW files, ergonomics isn't greatest (clickable wheels and lack of MF/AF switch) but it's fast and snappy enough to forget about it. However lens transition feels like a minefield.
For my starter kit, I’ve settled on:
- XF 23mm f/1.4 R LM WR
- XF 56mm f/1.2 R WR
- Sigma 10-18mm f/2.8 (seems reasonable but i'm not a fan of FL ring direction)
Yesterday i've tested 23/1.4 and Viltrox 27/1.2 and while Viltrox glass is beautiful, AF performance difference was massive. Since everyone on the internet is bitching about Fuji AF**,** my question to pros here is;
- For those shooting high volume documentary or commercial work: are there any other "must-have" AF performers I should look at?
- What are your experiences with shooting commercially with Fuji? Any freezes, untimely shutter failures, stuff like this?
- What’s your set of lenses that never fails you on a shoot?
Thanks a lot! Pics sort of unrelated to my topic but still, fujis BW are awesome ;)
