installed arch on my steam deck!

(btw this is not a dual boot)

So my Steam Deck became my main Desktop Setup a couple months ago, with a keyboard, a monitor, and a mouse.

I started getting interested in tinkering around, because i only used windows for years (on my laptop which is now outdated).

Anyways it has been a smooth experience. I'm aware that steamos is based off arch, but its not arch. It sometimes has trouble installing tools and apps for arch.

I decided to go with GNOME because steam os uses kde, which i kinda got sick of (and gnome has good touchscreen integration for handheld mode). I don't really play much games, but i tested one game, which is not that demanding: Getting over it. The performance is good. just Default settings. But this definitely will vary from game to game. I'm going to install some way more demanding games and see how the performance changes. I'm not expecting any massive boosts though lol. So just stick to steam os if you just want to game.

How much safer is linux for cracked windows games?

im running steamos, and i know that most viruses are for windows. But is it really safer? I feel like most data stealing viruses would still work even if they are ran in wine. Or would it just get confused if it was made for windows?

ive been running linux for like 3 years now but i still am learning, so im not sure how windows designed viruses behave on linux. To my knowledge, wine is not sandboxed.
