Can I still apply? Proof of residence for a job in Germany
Hello neighbors!!
I have a quick question and hope that someone with experience might be able to help me.
I saw a job posting from the French Consulate General in Frankfurt. The ad states that applicants must have been residing in Germany for at least three months prior to hiring and that German health insurance is required.
I currently live in Germany, but:
I am currently subletting and do not pay the rent under my own name, so I cannot provide proof in the form of an official lease agreement. I only have a confirmation from my landlord that I live here.
In addition, I do not yet have German health insurance, but I could, of course, arrange that before starting the job (which would begin on June 29, 2026).
What I can prove, however, is that I have lived in Germany for longer than three months in the past.
Do you think I should still apply under these circumstances? Maybe someone has experience with these kinds of requirements for local contracts or at consulates.
Thanks in advance for your input! :-)
