executive dysfunction vs normal?

it seems like everybody experiences some level of executive dysfunction.

the most blatant example is in weight loss, where people really want to lose weight yet cant get their shit together enough to actually do it, hence the entire industry surrounding it.

i cant think of any other blatant examples, but just go scroll social media for enough time and you'll eventually encounter a meme or funny video saying something like "that feeling when you have exams and you beg yourself to focus but it's not working"

so obviously "i want to, but i cant" isn't the litmus test for executive dysfunction. how bad does it have to be before you can actually think, "i am disabled because of real executive dysfunction, therefore i shouldn't be held to the standards of normal"

i stopped fighting the hyperfixations

idk why people are always like "you should force yourself to do stuff you don't enjoy because self discipline habits finish projects yada yada"

its basic economics. if country A can produce 10 Xs and 5 Ys, and country B can produce 5 Xs and 10 Ys, they should both produce what they're more efficient at. just instead of counties its me at time A and me at time B!

i have a feeling this is just the first in a series of realizations that i should stop chopping myself up to fit into a neurotypical mold (well i am neurotypical. just a malformed one. or does depression make me neurodivergent?)

either im misunderstanding the safety difference between sports bras and binders, my sports bra is too tight, or my binder is too loose

i got an binder, it was the right size (i think) and did its job but was just too tight that i didn't wear it often. so i decided to get a sports bra, to be slightly flatter while being more comfortable (and also for sports sometimes lol). well i tried it and it feels like maybe 50% of the compression of the binder? it definitely feels like my breathing is at least a little impaired.

so i don't get it why is okay to wear a sports bra all day while exercising whereas wearing a binder all day while sitting isn't.

finally found a decluttering strategy that works for me: rubber duck decluttering

"Rubber duck debugging (or rubberducking) is a debugging technique in software engineering, wherein a programmer explains their code, step by step, in natural language—either aloud or in writing—to reveal mistakes and misunderstandings."

Therefore i have created: rubber duck decluttering, where you get a friend (or inanimate object) to go through your stuff with you and you realize what you want to keep by talking it out.

would have been nice to have thought of this t earlier instead of 4 hours before my move when i begged a friend for help lol

executive dysfunction without adhd is so isolating

nobody gets it. I can't googe "how to deal with time blindness" to be reminded that im just a shitty stupid procrastinator who doesn't care enough because i dont have adhd. i fuck everything up and i have no excuse. "oh i have depression thats why i can't do anything" that doesn't make sense to others or me, because 90% of my depression symtoms are resolved so i don't look nor feel like it. god i hate psychiatry for its rigid way of quantifying suffering but too bad society has a circlejerk for the dsm and i fucking live in society!

i have a lot of autistic traits but im not autistic. i find a lot of comfort in autistic communities because nobody else understands hand flapping, hyperfixating, and executive dysfunction. is there anywhere to go for people like me? or is it ok for me to be in autistic spaces?
