Looking for any UK peeps here who might be able to help me with advice around accessing quick treatment for a flair.
I am on the verge on finally getting diagnosis for RA/ SLE (this is the NHS so probably be another 6 months until I’m offered a specialist appointment!)
But my main focus at the moment is trying to minimise and treat the debilitating symptoms I’ve been having for too long and seem to be getting worse!
Am I right in thinking steroid treatment is the quickest way to start to help? Is this available via your GP in the uk or would I have to wait for the specialist appointment?
My worst symptoms are joint pain to the point I am struggling to move my limbs, extreme tiredness fatigue and horrendous brain fog. Would steroids help these? I’m off work at the moment as it has now got to the point I cannot manage the symptoms alongside working , I am also sole parent to my son who has complex special needs so there is no possibility of a day ‘off’ there.
Any hope or advice anyone can give me would be truly appreciated. Feel like I need to treat the immediate issues to be in any position to work out how to manage this long term.
