Chip in carbon brake track

Looking to buy a carbon wheel set. I agreed with the seller on a price and shipping. But right before shipping he showed me that the front rim has this chip in it. He also offered to sell me the wheels for half the agreed price. Which I think is very neat on his part. Gotta give him props for the transparency and honesty.

These are the photos he’s given me though. Not the best quality. The chip looks like it is about 3 mm big. Right on the top edge of the rim. Seller says it’s not visible from the inside.

Question is though, is it a dealbreaker on a (now) €100 set of hoops? How serious is this damage? Is it even a problem at all? It’s seems like it’s not just the clearcoat or outer layer. Looking to hear your thoughts.

It’s a set Cannondale Hollowgram rim brake wheels. Their overall condition is very good. Brake track has hardly any wear on it. The set comes with the tyres as well. So it is a good deal, if this chip is not an issue. Good quality carbon rim brake wheels are hard to find, or a lot more expensive than this.

I also thinking of buying the wheels and finding a replacement front wheel, or to get a new carbon rim from LightBicycle and lace it to the front hub.

Thanks in advance for any advice and reflections.
